Quick fixes for possible errors:
Error code: -2147467259 (Unspecified Error) - Run it under compatibilities for win7, services pack 2 or 3 Right click on the client > properties > compatibilities > drop down box under compatibility mode - Reduce color mode Right click on the client > properties > compatibilities > setting > check box reduce color mode & try both 8-bit and 16-bit - Add client and game folders to all your antivirus exceptions, including Windows Defender - You may need to update your drivers - Close Skype, your browser, or any other programs completely and then open up the game, this works differently for different people so you may need to test what works for you. - change your monitor settings to 60hz Right click > Properties > Compatibility > Tick run in 640x480 - this could also indicate that the graphics display driver is not installed correctly. Error code "Error Code : -2147287038 (Unknown errror 0x80030002) or -2147287039 (Unknown errror 0x80030002) - Your wz files are out of date. You will need to download the client set up from the website and replace the files in your folder - If that doesn't work you may have to redownload the Game setup and Client setup files are redo the download Invalid pointer error - Your wz files are out of date. You will need to download the client set up from the website and replace the files in your folder Socket Error Code / Error Code : 10106 (The requested service provider could not be loaded or initialized) - When using a cable modem this happens when the DHCP client on the PC hangs. To fix this you usually power cycle the modem (remove power, wait a few seconds and plug it back in). Then you will get "not a socket" error when trying to renew the IP address. So all you have to do is reset winsock. Either by deleting the reg keys or by typing: netsh winsock reset catalog in cmd HackShield Update Error - Make sure you are opening the Maplekey.exe or Maplekeymini.exe client "We are unable to connect to login server due to a server check, a firewall block or other network issues" error after entering PIC - contact a GM - otherwise a 3rd party program, such as your antivirus is closing your game "You have been disconnected from the login server.
